Greetings all, and welcome to the October (2023) update for Roguelike Games!

Psyche! This isn't even a blog update! (ain't we evil?) [insert evil laugh here] In truth, this isn't about progress on Moralinth (sure there is lots going on but it's all "under the hood" stuff and not exactly thrilling for you guys), but is in fact a launching platform for our Halloween 2023 event!
To celebrate the spooky season we're doing a Moralinth-themed giveaway AND a competition!
I think we've deceived you enough so let's get down to brass tacks shall we? What's this free gift and competition you say? read on Guys and Ghouls!
Free Gift!
As part of our spooky Halloween 2023 event, the designers over here at Roguelike Games would like to present all our readers with a free gift to use in their Tabletop RPGs! How would you like a spooky manor house in the woods for your players to explore absolutely free?
Well...you're in luck because that's exactly what we're giving away! Designed specifically for this event, we present SHADEFALL MANOR!

This 24-page PDF is yours to download and keep forever, and comes with flash artwork to show your players and a selection of maps for all four floors of the building, each with their own choice of daylight, sunset, and night light settings!
To download the maps, artwork, and maps simply follow this link (617mb .rar file)- no signup, purchases, or anything else necessary! HAPPY HALLOWEEN FOLKS!
(Note: this is a non-commercial product designed solely for personal use. Do not resell or, indeed, purchase this from other sources. It's free! keep it that way.)
Competition Time!
Spooky stories and Halloween go together like sleep and nightmares, so what better way to elevate the Halloween spirit than by creating a frightful tale ourselves?
Over at our Discord Server, a new competition will be starting at midnight tonight where you can add your ideas to an ongoing story for a chance to win a pre-release copy of the Moralinth: Gothic Horror Roleplaying game!
All you need to enter is to sign up to the Official Moralinth Discord Server (if you're not already) by following the instructions at the bottom of this page, then head on over to the Community category and then to the Short Stories channel. Check over and read the Halloween 2023 Story Event thread, read through the story, and then add your own response!
Participants are limited to 1 post per day, and the competition will be running for 7 days. In other words, you have up to seven posts you can add to the story, and at the end of the event two winners will be picked out to receive a copy of either Moralinth: Uncanny Edition or Moralinth: Gloom Edition (their choice) once the books are complete but BEFORE they go to crowdfunding.
Remember: the more posts you add, the more likely you are to write something so spectacular that it grabs our judge's attention, so get over there and have fun!

We're really looking forward to seeing what you all come up with, and hope that you enjoy playing Shadefall Manor as much as we did writing and designing it! For reference, the maps were put together over a few days using a lot of patience and Chronos Builder from Mist Wall Studio - check them out!
Roguelike Community
The Moralinth Official Facebook Group is the place to visit for quick and concise updates for those who only want the summarised details of what is happening with Moralinth and is a great place to see the artwork, lore snippets, and updates. We're looking to add more to it so that we can add extra information, but we need your help! What sort of things would you like to see included in the Facebook Group that isn't there already? Feel free to leave comments so we can know what is a priority for everyone - and make sure you tell your friends!

DISCORD:
For a more in-depth and interactive playground for all things Moralinth, you can head over to the Morlainth Official Discord Server. We're looking to foster the community and grow it out, and a few of the messages we've received of late have asked for more ways to interact with the game world as well as an increase in setting information. We're looking to try and grant both requests simultaneously, so keep an eye on Discord for more information! Feel free to invite anyone who you feel might want to follow the project but please remember they need to verify their account when they first join the server (you need to click the little "tick" to be granted the Uncanny role and gain access to all the Categories, Channels and Events).
....and that wraps up our "update" for this month! Feel free to drop us a message or come visit us on our Facebook page or our Discord Group if you'd like! Until our next update,
Happy Gaming!
