July 2026 Update

[July 2026]
July's coming in hot!
Greetings all, and welcome to the July (2026) update for Roguelike Games!
As mentioned in our January blog, these monthly updates will now primarily focus on progress, highlighting the project's advancement towards completion each month. The goal is to establish an easily trackable roadmap that clearly shows what we are currently working on and where our efforts will be concentrated in the upcoming month.
These progress trackers will be split into The Uncanny Edition Core Rulebook, The Enclave Edition Core Rulebook and The Imperial Encyclopaedia Estania progress.
Furthermore, they will be split into the following categories:
Writing
Proof-reading & Editing
Layout
As noted in the February update, from now on, we will only highlight changes from the previous month. Therefore, this update will focus on the work completed during July.
Alternatively, you can now find the Moralinth Progress Tracker here.
But wait, there's more!
Following this, we've added a little bonus at the end of this blog for the lore-hounds amongst you: an introduction to the Imperial Chronicler who is responsible for penning "The Imperial Encyclopaedia Estania", and a living NPC within the game-world: Syvilde Hrafn.
With all that said, here is how the project looks as of the end of July 2026:

THE IMPERIAL CHRONICLER
Voices of the Enclaves: Who is Syvilde Hrafn?
To step inside the grand gates of an Enclave is to witness a contradiction. Beyond the looming ironworks and beneath the endless fog of the Blight lies a living monument of brass, glass, and clockwork—a testament to eighteen rival nations who laid down centuries of blood to build a sun of their own.
Yet, if you wander the bustling wards long enough, you will eventually spot a figure who seems to embody that defiance in flesh and blood.
Dressed in a sweeping Ordovian cloak dyed a bold, uncompromising crimson rather than the sombre navy-blue of The Watch, Syvilde Hrafn is a rare sight: a chronicler who looks upon our caged world and sees not a dying civilisation, but an unfolding saga.
"They say the Blight has broken the world, but they are wrong. Listen to the roar of the foundries, look at the lights stretching into the clouds, the gleam of wonder in the eyes of our children! We didn't hide from the dark—we built a sun of our own." -Syvilde Hrafn, Imperial Chronicler

The Heart of an Ordovian
Born in Ordova, Syvilde was raised on the epic, mythic sagas of her northern homeland. When humanity was forced to retreat behind stone and iron, she refused to let that tradition of grand storytelling die in the ash. Where others see crowding and desperation, Syvilde sees an unbroken chain of mortal ingenuity.
Travel-worn satchel slung over her shoulder, charcoal sticks tucked into her belt, and a thick leather ledger held tightly against her chest, she wanders from Ward to Ward, Enclave to Enclave. She does not sit only in the opulent imperial libraries; she can just as often be found sitting on the cold stone steps of the lower Districts, sharing bread with street urchins, foundry workers, and weary members of The Watch to record their truths.
Why Her Voice Matters
With what remains of civilisation scattered within enclosed Enclave cities across The Known World, Syvilde's commentary within the pages of the Encyclopaedia acts as a vital beacon of communication between the common citizens of the empire, granting insight into the outside world to those unable to experience it themselves. Where formal scholars log military counts and structural geometry, Syvilde writes of varied cultures of the continent, the last remnants of the once-beautiful nations, and the indomitable spirit of the people who work tirelessly to keep their traditions alive behind massive, indomitable walls.
Now in its third revised edition, The Imperial Encyclopaedia Estania is one of the most popular pieces of literature on the continent, with many claiming it is almost as well-read as the Treorin: the holy text of The Multi-Faced Pantheon. It is part travel guide, part cultural archive, and part geographical encyclopaedia for seventeen out of the eighteen nations found across The Known World (as a human, Syvilde cannot enter the nation of Dalevya, though she has recorded multiple interviews with Dalevyian diplomats and travellers in her works).
The closest thing to a continental celebrity (outside of individuals such as The Empress and The Prime), Syvilde remains humble and enthusiastic in her endeavours, and feels driven to connect as many people as she can through her works, often despite how torn asunder mortal civilisation has become in the wake of The Blight.
You can read more about Syvilde and her travels in the upcoming free expansion to Moralinth, The Imperial Encyclopaedia Estania.
Roguelike Community
The Moralinth Official Facebook Group is the place to visit for quick and concise updates for those who only want the summarised details of what is happening with Moralinth and is a great place to see the artwork, lore snippets, and updates. We're looking to add more to it so that we can add extra information, but we need your help! What sort of things would you like to see included in the Facebook Group that isn't there already? Feel free to leave comments so we can know what is a priority for everyone, and make sure you tell your friends!

DISCORD:
For a more in-depth and interactive playground for all things Moralinth, you can head over to the Morlainth Official Discord Server. We're looking to foster the community and grow it out, and a few of the messages we've received of late have asked for more ways to interact with the game world, as well as an increase in setting information. We're looking to try and grant both requests simultaneously, so keep an eye on Discord for more information! Feel free to invite anyone who you feel might want to follow the project but please remember they need to verify their account when they first join the server (you need to click the little "tick" to be granted the Uncanny role and gain access to all the Categories, Channels and Events).
Future Plans
Next month, we'll be sharing with you our updates on the progress tracker for The Imperial Encyclopaedia Estania, plus any additional updates to the Uncanny and Enclave edition Core Rulebooks through the month of August 2026.
....and that wraps up our update for this month! Feel free to drop us a message or come visit us on our Facebook page or our Discord Group if you'd like! Until our next update,
Happy Gaming!
